Look into my eyes. What do you see?

I just sat down with Mark, a friend of mine and, after explaining why, asked if we could look into each other's eyes for longer than we naturally would.
After a brief moment of being very uncomfortable, eliciting the response from Mark, "this feels very forced", there was a very real change in attitude. He said it was both revealing and insightful, as if you can see what the other person was thinking.
A very interesting exercise.
thanks dad :)

Dear John & Tom- After reading a post on Neale Walsch's website that you posted about a year ago, John, regarding this exercise, it felt like such an authentic way to connect with another. Sexuality and age aside, it definitely is a beautiful exercise. A few weeks ago I had my 2 grandangels with me, ages 8 & 6. They started name calling each other and arguing. I had them practice this exercise and they ended up laughing & hugging each other.
Great work, John!
Luv & Peace, Lynn xo p.s. thanks for the login "John1".

Out of conflict and discord can come growth and harmony. When I first heard this I could hardly listen to it (the soprano saxaphone is unusual with spiritual music). It is here as an example of how two opposing forces can be seen 'eye to eye' if we allow our perception to alter.

A Smile - author unknown |
| |
A smile costs nothing but gives much. It reaches those who receive without making poorer those who give. It takes not a moment, but the memory sometimes lasts for a lifetime.
No one is so rich or mighty that he can get along without it, and no one so poor hat he cannot be made richer by it.
A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters goodwill in business, and is the countersign of friendship. It brings rest to the wary, cheer to the discouraged.
A smile is the sunshine to the sad, and is nature's best antidote for trouble. Yet it cannot be bought, begged or borrowed, or stolen, for it is of no value to anyone until it is given away.
Some people are too tired to give you a smile. Give them one of yours, as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give.
