  Carina's Reply
Carina is my Portugese email friend who has only done English at school, yet her response to my poem in the chapter was immediate and a huge WOW moment for me.

'Love is All There Is

Love is all that exists
Love inside all things
And Between the events
Everything that happens

Every change and every emotion
And the meaning of all that is set up
Alive, alive in presence
Surrounded by your love

So love is meaningful
Love explains to us why
Why life must seem so complex
And yet it is so simple

If we could just hold the vision
The vision of pure love
As a presence in us
As the light that guides us each moment, then

The storm and the darkness shine with the light of love, they do not look somber.
Solitude becomes welcoming, softened by the love warmth.
The world, apparently cursed, shows to us beautifully designed.
Universe, outpouring love, dances in perfect harmony; the music that comes
out from Love.

If life is seeming empty and meaningless, just love; if we are feeling despair, we just love.
If we could....only love, past becomes present in wisdom, leaving pre-made
thinking behind and future becomes present in hope, leaving worry undone.
Real presence, Real sintony between, Real contact, Real Life!'

  Tom's Reply
And this reply from my son, who had never written poetry before, was just as WOW!

'You to me are everything
My guidance, truth, My all.
The shining light that guides the way,
The rock that saves my fall.

Happiness is all around you,
Everything is peace and joy.
For you are serenity and calm
The eternal truth, now, and always.

With you things are so simple
No right, no wrong, just what you do!
A stable force when needed
A friend at every other time.

For you to me are everything
My guidence, truth, My all.
The shining light that guides the way,
The rock that saves my fall.

For you to me are everything.
My Dad, My Friend, My All.'

  Marianne Williamson
A quote from her book 'Return to Love' (a quote often wrongly attributed to Nelson Mandela).

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ro-CWGxFxWo for youtube version, or text is below.

'Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.' (Marianne Williamson from Return to Love)
